Madi & Pip is a print focused label inspired by 60’s silhouettes and nostalgia. It is a playful curation of colour, Australian flora, fauna and lifestyle; designed and made in Australia.
What began as a project to create a wrap-around dress for her grandmother, has inspired not just a label, but a life’s passion for designer Emma Bond.
‘I wanted to create wrap-around dress, as requested by my grandmother, Philomena (The Pip in Madi&Pip). When I discussed with her further, I found she did not like the aesthetic of the style, but thought they really were the only option that allowed her to dress without assistance,’ Emma says.
‘Upon further research, I found that generally, ready to wear women’s clothing seems to focus on either function, fashion or aesthetics.’
Consciously moving against this tide to embrace both aspects of highly wearable clothing the Gold Coast designer creates a unique blend of beautiful designs made for ease of wear for people of all abilities.
