Start and evolve to consecutive levels with a series of practical fashion skill-based workshops. These series have been developed for creators and producers within the fashion industry – the designers, pattern makers, drapers, sewers, product developers and everyone situated under the umbrella of transforming a design to tangible products.

It is our mission to provide our industry with quality knowledge and skilled workers who can transition across any fashion workroom.

Leverage and advance from fundamental knowledge and be a part of the building blocks of local talent to frame the growth of the Australian fashion industry.

There are six levels of workshops to choose from depending on your current knowledge and area of interest. Water, coffee, tea and light snacks are provided. Please email enquiries@fashion360.com.au for further information regarding details of each program. All sessions are capped at 5ppl.


Industry-Specific Applications

A cluster of 4hr workshops over six weeks and available over five levels of Pattern Construction, Fitting and Garment Construction including relevant Specification sheet requirements from level 3 and above.

Level 1. Introduction to technical concepts, industry language, design analysis and practical applications of methods for translation of basic designs to product. This level also introduces different types of finishes to suit particular fabric type.

Suitable for designers or individuals with little or no practical skills wishing to attain practical knowledge and skills in this area.


Level 2. Revision of standard industry language and terminologies with practical applications of techniques and methods for translation of designs with added details. This level also gives greater focus to selecting suitable finishes for different fabrics, styles and product price point.

Ideal for level 1 learners to develop further skills and for those who have already attained fundamentals from TAFE or University and wish to increase/refine their skills to apply to actual industry environments. Great opportunity for employers to leverage government incentives and send their entry level employees to attain more solid skills.

Level 3. Expand practical knowledge and skills required to analyse ideal techniques and methods for more complex designs with contouring requirements. Increase your capability with industry tips to achieving pattern and sewing precision to achieve quality outcome.

This level also focusses on the use of different textiles and how it impacts fit as well as an introduction to specification sheets.

Ideal for level 2 participants to upskill and those who are relatively competent but require some refining and a boost of confidence to work in industry or in their own business. This level gives them the opportunity to validate their current understanding. Again, a great opportunity for fashion industry employees to build on skills and knowledge for better application in industry practices and reduce mistakes which equates to costs. 


Level 4. Cement your technical skills alongside relevant understanding of fabrics, finishes and body shapes. Acquire the capability to construct commercially viable patterns through a combination of draping and flat pattern making and apply commercial techniques to the construction of a garment. This level also focusses on construction of special garment features to allow greater scope in design development.

Ideal for level 3 participants interested in gaining greater analytical knowledge and expand their skills further. Also great for current industry employees to refine their knowledge and be able to fill in knowledge gaps to assist and apply to their current work.

Level 5. Acquire the knowledge and skills of a great Garment Technologist! Solidify your understanding by deep diving into body shapes and apply the knowledge for specific segments of the market.

This level then progresses into the analytical considerations required to effectively establish a grading system suitable for specific markets, styles and textiles. Acquire the understanding of body growth proportions and how to determine applicable increments to maintain realistic proportions and fit.

Ideal for levels 3 & 4 graduates and those in industry with great knowledge of pattern and garment construction but wish to deep dive further into understanding grading beyond the limits of a general standard system.


Level 6. This Level focuses on Bifurcated designs, understanding the differences in cut and fit of different styles and its relationship to different body shapes. The level highlights technical processes required to mitigate poor fit in design.

The styles in focus will be pants, jeans and jumpsuits.

Recreational Workshops

A cluster of 3.5hr workshops over four sessions to learn about the fundamentals of clothing development and how it is applied to the garments you wear.

Each participant will then get to select a style from a choice of 3 to make for themselves or someone they would like to gift. Lots of guidance with tips and tricks throughout the sessions to allow cross learning between each participant. It is guaranteed you will take away some new-found skills that can be applied when called for and develop a new appreciation for the art that goes into all your garments.

Cost – Cost of sessions will include a starter pack drinks and nibbles - $349

Starting date: April 2021

This is ideal for beginners as well as those wishing to reconnect with their former skills. A great practical fun activity for friends or families to do together and meet new people.
